Ikebana

Oh what joy it is to take pictures in the rain, not.  More like one of the most stressful things ever.  I'm holding the umbrella underneath my chin and trying to hold the camera to get the right exposure and on top of that I'm dealing with hurricane winds blowing the rain everywhere!  However, I love the rain droplets on my lovely flowers.  There was a small garden by the Brandywine River in Wilmington.

.....Let's go Phillies!

Autumn Afternoons

It's my favorite time of the year and its about time.  I enhanced the colors in both images, especially the red in the first, and blurred the corners in the second image.  These were taken at the park behind the Hockessin Library. B-E-A-utiful time of the year I might say.
This isn't for my class, this was just for fun. I would upload my latest project which truly shows how incredible photoshop is but unfortunately it won't upload. I'm not giving up though...I'll find a way to get it up.

Self Portraits

This was our first assignment for my Digital Media class.  We basically just had to take like a 100 portrait shots either using the self timer on our camera or using reflections.  Then we choose our 3 favorite:

I took this picture in the woods by my house.  I sacrificed myself to take these shots in the woods because I got over a dozen mosquito bites.  Anyways, I didn't put much thought into this picture, I just placed it on the ground and froze until the timer took the picture. However, This is my favorite image.  The lighting, the composition, the elements. I give it 4 stars.

I took this picture in the park in the woods by my house. I'm impressed with my composition and the mysterious feel to it all.  And a low depth of field (sharpened foreground, blurred background) always makes an image look more interesting in my opinion.

I took this image in the lounge of my building.  triple bonus here.  I love the piano, I love taking pictures, and I love food.  I loved how I caught the reflection.  I thought of it as the piano seemed more interesting than the food even though I was hungry.  The chairs on the left add to the piece even though some find it distracting, I find it appealing.

Moonlight Sonata

I have an equal love for music and art so creating this piece was a double bonus on my part.  I am playing on a baby grand in my building's lounge here.  The further the image goes back the more atmospheric it is and the closer the image is the more sharpened it is.  I focused on my right hand and piano keys using a low f-stop presenting this more interesting effect.

Got Leakage?

Here's some good ol' stop action.  I took this at 7 in the morning because I couldn't sleep so I thought I'd take some pictures and use the advantage of the sun's setting in the sky. Anyways, I took this picture with a shutter speed of 1/800 of a second just outside of my dining hall, Pencader.  Both my teacher and myself found this a rather successful piece.
